COUNTRY GARDEN FAILAND, NEAR BRISTOL

Part of the garden designer’s mission is to solve problems. Here there was no back garden and so the front garden had to serve as entrance and also relaxation and entertainment zones. Our clients were keen gardeners and also wanted stunning borders.

COUNTRY GARDEN

Located on the corner of a large historic building this property had garden on just one side of the house. So for all its idyllic location there was just one space which therefore had to act as both public and private faces, giving access but also recreation.

Our solution was to make the drive both practical and decorative. And to zone areas on both sides, with hedges and borders so that, while they are not totally secluded, there is a feeling of comfortable enclosure.

Our partnership pays strict attention to the client’s brief. Here design requests included elements of formality, focal points and a first for us: a false door which doesn’t open. Apparently it has already fooled a few!

WHAT THE CLIENT SAID
Sally & Colin

Lesley and Robert are a fantastic team who are extremely enthusiastic, with extensive plant knowledge, which allows them to produce unusual and unique garden plans. As a team they took our vague vision and made it into a wonderful garden which amazes us each year as it matures. We were also extremely happy with the contractors who did the hard landscaping and planting, under Robert and Lesley's guidance. The whole process was a most enjoyable experience.
