Garden Design by the Hegarty webber Partnership, Bristol, UK

How we design your garden

1) Initial consultation meeting – our first meeting will be free of charge if you live within a 20-mile radius of Bristol.

2) Client’s instructions – we get to know your likes and dislikes so that our responses are specific to you. If desired we can take the brief at the initial meeting which saves costs.

3) Survey and site assessment – it usually takes two people up to one day to complete accurate measurements and assessment of the site and surrounding landscape. The survey will be drawn up on site. It is essential to carry out this process before any design work can begin.

4) Production of written report – summarises our findings and briefly discusses our broad design suggestions. This is generally undertaken only for larger and/or more complex gardens

6) Presentation of final design (fully inked and coloured) – this can usually take place within 4-6 weeks of the survey and site assessment dependant upon the complexity of the site.

7) Production of detailed planting plans – following approval of the final design, and if required, detailed planting plans can be drawn up. This part of the process should take no more than 4 weeks from approval of the final design. If you wish, we can also produce a plant schedule for each area of the garden which can be sent to appropriate nurseries to organise the sourcing of the plants.

8) Carrying out of tender process to contractors– if required, we can produce a specification document detailing the proposed works which we will send to a number of landscape contractors in order to receive their quotes. It may be necessary to include construction drawings and a setting out plan with the specification document.
