This is a large family residence, in its own 5 acre rural setting, with spectacular views. The garden was almost a blank canvas lacking detail and intimacy. The views needed to be framed and garden features created to match the scale of the site without creating too large a workload for the owners.
This initial design stage has dignified the approach to the house, begun the softening of the house into the landscape, created a new drinks terrace and enhanced some of the views.
The client envisages further staged developments, so our design allows for expansion into the remainder of the estate at a later date.
