A Family Hillside Garden

Our brief was to integrate space outside a well-used family room and trampoline area into the wider garden context.

We have re-organised a rather small, neglected and poorly designed pond using a circular motif. This links the formality of the house with the soft curves of the wooded hillside. Its close proximity to the house allows the reflective qualities of the water to be appreciated from inside as well as out.

The hillside has been sculpted to contain a large trampoline, and this sympathetic treatment is further enhanced by a dense low level planting of evergreen shrubs.
