The clients have significantly enlarged a former Duchy farm cottage high up in the Mendips. They have a young family and an active social life,
grow their own vegetables and are hobby farmers.
Our design creates an ‘estate’ feel with zoned areas, each having a distinct character. The front garden reflects the cottage style of the original building while the contemporary walled enclosure coordinates with the recent house extension. It provides family space which includes builtin barbecue and a plunge pool.
Some distance from the house a ‘tropical’pool with exotic planting creates an element of surprise and seclusion.
