An exceptional rooftop space with panoramic views over South Bristol is the outstanding feature of this Clifton penthouse apartment. Lacklustre styling and a new owner who enjoyed entertaining made a redesign and speedy implementation essential.

Our key aim was not to ‘fight the view’ with fussy landscaping . A generous area of curved decking guides your eye out towards the tower of Dundry Church in the distance, and matching timber planters containing mixed herbaceous and structural planting based on a Mediterranean theme help to obscure some ugly air vents.

The end result is flexible entertaining space. Good quality trellis for climbers, contemporary grey containers and the client’s ‘nut kernel’ feature pot complete this ‘contemporary’ design.
