Regency Elegance

This long, narrow, town garden lies behind a terraced Regency house in Clifton, Bristol. It is south facing, but with a big Acer tree at the far end of the garden. The clients regarded the existing garden as a blank canvas. They wanted entertaining space and plenty of room for plants.

The space is divided into zones using themed planting, paths and low boxwood hedges. There is also plenty of cross travel, thus breaking up its apparent length. The walls are generously clad with climbers.

The garden lent itself to a range of options, but this one with focal topiary Quercus ilex was the one they selected. It was our favourite too!
